Physical Fitness and Sports

 

Many of these businesses have shown support to the homeschool community over the years. Classes and program availabilities frequently change, so contact the organization for any current homeschool or homeschool friendly activities open.

Archer's Afield  provides archery classes, private instruction, and camps throughout the year. (Tigard)

Club Sport provides a variety of indoor sports and activities for kids of all ages.  (Tigard) 

​

City of Tualatin Parks and Recreation provides a variety of programs for children of all ages. (Tualatin)

 

Farber Swim School, offers swim programs for ages 6 months and older. (Beaverton-Raleigh Hills)


Flightschool Gymnastics offers homeschool PE for ages 5-18 years. See website for details. (Hillsboro)
 

Indoor Goals  Caters to indoor sports such as roller hockey, indoor soccer, and lacross for all ages. Classes and camps. (Beaverton)

Kingpings Bowling has replaced Sunset Bowling (2020) which was accommodating to homeschoolers. Try new management to see if they too will.

 

Metro Gymnastics offers classes and camps for all ages. (Tigard)

 

NorthWest Fencing Center  provides classes for children and adults at all levels of skill and experience, as well as private lessons, beginning and advanced camps, armory workshops, group parties and homeschool PE and Fencing classes for children ages 6-14. (Beaverton)

 

Oaks Park  The Oaks Park Skating Rink offers a homeschool skate on select Mondays from 10am to noon during the school year. For more information, current prices, and directions, see the website. (SE Portland)

 

Omega Gymnastics desires to teach real gymnastics while having real fun. We truly believe that inside every child lies a champion. Variety of classes, camps, and drop-in activities available. (Beaverton)  

 

Oregon Gymnastics Academy (OGA)offers classes, camps, and drop-in activities for children of all ages.
 

Park Lanes. bowling alley provides youth lessons and events. (Hillsboro)

 

Portland Parks and Recreation has numerous facilities with classes and activities for all ages. Southwest Center has been most open to homeschool groups in the past.

 

Pump It Up  offers open playtime sessions on giant indoor inflatable play structures. (Various metro locations)

School of Respect Taekwondo  supports family values and has designed classes that help you incorporate taekwondo disciplines into the family system. Masters Ron and Molly provide adult classes, children's classes, and a fun family class that allows kids to be kids and adults to train alongside their families. (Hillsboro)

 

Shudokan School of Karate provides family classes as well as regular classes for all ages. They have several locations in the Portland metro area (Troutdale, Milwaukie and SW Portland)

 

Shute Park Aquatic and Rec Center provides group swimming and fitness classes.  Check their site for information and registration on current classes  (Hillsboro)

 

Skyhook Ninja Fitness Center brings American Ninja style athletics to the general public. It seeks to provide physical and emotional growth through fun, functional fitness using a variety of ninja style obstacle centers, parkour, and gymnastics. Classes and camps available. Group parties or classes. Ages from child to adult. (Tigard)

 

Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District  (THPRD) offers some homeschool friendly classes and would offer more if there were interest. (Various locations in Washington County)

 

Upward Basketball League  Upward is a Christ-centered league sponsored by a local volunteering church.  "A league where every child plays, every child learns, and every child is a winnter." Many sports are included from basketball to soccer to cheerleading. (Various local churches have supported this in the past with obvious closures during Covid. Go to the main website as "parent" to find a church league near you).

 

Wilsonville Lanes provides open bowling and has been supportive of homeschool groups in the past. (Wilsonville)
