Community Volunteer Work
Many colleges like to see applicants that have been involved in community service and volunteer projects. First, check with your pastor and church members to find outreach ministries recommended by them. Then expand your search with the suggestions below.

Audobon Society in West Portland provides paid internships and summer camp opportunities for youth 16-20.
Beaverton Volunteering by the Beaverton Police. In the past they had a youth volunteer peer court.

Bonneville Lock and Dam offers community volunteer opportunities from manning the visitor's centers, conducting interpretative tours of the power houses to park clean up.
